Fungi - Cheilymenia stercorea
Previous Plant    Back to Thumbnails    Next Plant

This is another tiny fungus! It's pretty hard to tell, but these are a kind of eyelash cup fungus. The "eyelash" name is due to the edges of the cup having a sort of fringe. The fungus grows on dung, especially deer and horse dung. The pieces of deer scat (dung) are typically less than an inch long, and the fungi cups are the size of pin heads.
